INDEX INSIGHT

Index Insight

Verified, data-led analysis of Singapore’s industrial economy — the sectors, the companies and the forces reshaping them. Every figure is sourced to a primary authority; every article routes back to the companies behind the numbers.

Singapore’s industrial economy is one of the most consequential and least understood in the world. A country smaller than New York City makes roughly a tenth of the world’s semiconductor chips, refines and ships fuel to the global fleet, builds the rigs and floating platforms that pump deep-water oil, and manufactures medicines for eight of the ten largest drugmakers on earth. Most of that happens behind fences, in Tuas and on Jurong Island, out of public view. Index Insight exists to bring it into view.

This is the analytical layer of Singapore Industry Index — the record’s attempt to explain the base it documents. Where the record catalogues companies one by one, Insight steps back to read the whole: what each sector actually does, who the players are, where the capital is going, and which shifts will outlast the cycle. The work is held to one standard above all others. Every number is true, dated and traceable to a primary source — the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Economic Development Board, the port and maritime authority, company filings — and where a figure is derived or uncertain, we say so. In an economy thick with vendor estimates and rounded-up marketing claims, a record that can be trusted is the whole point.
