The two genuine anchors are specific and verifiable. Evonik operates a world-scale alkoxides plant on Jurong Island at 100,000 tonnes a year — alkoxides are the catalysts used to make biodiesel from vegetable oils, used cooking oil and waste fats, and also serve as reagents in fine-chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis, completing Evonik's four-site global alkoxides network. On the recovery side, homegrown BR Metals provides toll refining and precious-metal recovery from spent industrial and petrochemical catalysts (Pd/Pt on carbon and alumina, Pt-Rh) and automotive catalytic converters, processing an average ~3,000 tonnes of PGM scrap a year to recover ~80,000 troy ounces of precious metals from Singapore and Malaysia facilities.
