Aerospace surface treatment covers the special processes that finish and protect aircraft and engine components — anodising, electroplating (hard chrome, cadmium, electroless and electrolytic nickel), chemical processing, passivation and chromate conversion, thermal spray (HVOF, plasma), shot peening, painting and dry-film lubricant, and the adjacent non-destructive testing (NDT) that follows them.
