Additive manufacturing services in Singapore

Building parts layer by layer from digital models in metal or polymer, for prototypes, tooling and low-volume production. Processes include SLM/DMLS for metals and SLS, FDM and SLA for polymers. Buyers select on material, process, resolution, build size and post-processing.

Buyers of additive manufacturing buy to a specification, and the first question is process. Metal work runs on powder-bed fusion — SLM / DMLS / LPBF — with directed energy deposition (DED) and wire-arc (WAAM) for large near-net shapes and binder jetting for volume; polymer work spans SLS, SLA/MSLA, HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) and FDM. Material is the next gate: titanium Ti-6Al-4V, stainless 316L and 17-4PH, nickel superalloys such as Inconel, aluminium AlSi10Mg, cobalt-chrome, and engineering polymers led by PA12 nylon. Then come the numbers that decide whether a part flies or fits — build volume, dimensional tolerance and surface finish (Ra), and the post-processing chain of stress-relief, HIP, CNC finishing and polishing. For regulated work, paperwork is the product: AS9100 for aerospace, ISO 13485 for medical, ISO 9001 throughout, backed by material traceability.

Singapore has pushed hard into the field: the national programme NAMIC, A*STAR's ARTC and university labs (NTU, NUS, SUTD) seeded a supply base now running from certified aerospace bureaus to on-demand polymer shops. The commercial record feeds aerospace MRO, marine and offshore spares, medical implants and instruments, and tooling — certified, traceable, locally priced capacity is the through-line.
