CNC machining services in Singapore

CNC machining is subtractive manufacturing: a programmed machine tool cuts a solid billet of metal or plastic into a finished part, repeatably, to a drawing. It is the backbone process behind almost every precision component that has to fit, seal or fly.

Buyers separate serious suppliers on a short list of specifications. Axis count sets geometric ambition — 3-axis handles prismatic parts, while 4- and 5-axis machining cuts complex contours (turbine blades, impellers, medical implants) in a single set-up, which protects accuracy. Tolerance is the headline number: Singapore's better shops hold linear tolerances around ±25 µm and push to 5 µm, with precision grinding reaching 2 µm. Materials signal the market served — aluminium and stainless steel are routine; titanium, Inconel and other superalloys are the aerospace and oil-and-gas premium tier; PEEK, PTFE and other engineering plastics serve semiconductor and medical work. Certification is the licence to bid: ISO 9001 as the baseline, AS9100 for aerospace, ISO 13485 for medical devices. Capacity — machine count and lights-out (unattended overnight) running — tells you whether a shop can scale from prototype to volume.

Singapore is a credible place to source this. The work clusters geographically: general precision machining around Tuas and Jurong (Lok Yang Way, Boon Lay, Gul Circle), semiconductor tooling in Kaki Bukit, and aerospace machining at Seletar Aerospace Park. It feeds five demanding industries — aerospace, semiconductor, medical, marine and oil & gas — each of which rewards the supplier who can prove the tolerance rather than merely claim it.
