Project and heavy-lift logistics in Singapore

Transport of oversized, overweight, and high-value cargo for infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects. Work covers route surveys, lifting and rigging, specialised trailers, and vessel chartering for out-of-gauge and breakbulk consignments. Buyers select on engineering capability, equipment fleet, and project references.

Project logistics is the heavy-engineering end of the industry — the heavy-lift, out-of-gauge and oversized-cargo specialists who move reactors, transformers, turbine modules, drilling equipment and prefabricated plant that no container can hold. It is a rigging-and-heavy-transport discipline, not a freight discipline, and Singapore's demand base is heavily industrial: Jurong Island petrochemicals, the marine and offshore yards, semiconductor fabs, data-centre builds and public infrastructure. The scale is real — Jurong Port's project-cargo hub handles modules weighing up to 1,000 tonnes each (and has handled a 1,200-tonne turret riser), and the national rail network alone is being expanded toward ~360 km, a multi-year pipeline of oversized project cargo. This is a capability where homegrown Singapore-HQ specialists lead, because the work rewards owned heavy assets, rigging engineering and long relationships with the Jurong Island and marine-yard operators.

The buyer reads a project-logistics firm on owned heavy assets (self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT), hydraulic gantries, crawler and mobile cranes, low-beds, barges and tugs); lift capacity (single-lift tonnage and combined rigging capability); transport-and-lifting engineering (skidding, jacking, load-out, sea-fastening, ballistic and stability analysis); and sector track record (oil & gas, petrochemical, marine/offshore, data centre, infrastructure). The homegrown field is anchored by SGX-listed Tiong Woon, the only publicly-listed heavy-lift crane company in Southeast Asia, with a fleet of 579 cranes (to 2,200-tonne single-lift capacity), 359 haulage assets and its own tugs and barges; Bok Seng, a genuine heavy-lift/project-cargo specialist with SPMTs, gantries and marine assets; and heavy-transport houses Kim Soon Lee (400+ vehicles across four depots) and Hup Hin. Poh Tiong Choon and CWT carry heavy-transport capacity within broader logistics groups. The record should distinguish true heavy-lift/rigging specialists from container-only hauliers, and it deliberately leans homegrown — the global heavy-lift majors (Mammoet, Fagioli, deugro) are foreign-HQ and out of the Index's frame.
