Aerospace & Aviation
Singapore aerospace is a maintenance, repair and overhaul story. The Civil Aviation Authority publishes the SAR-145 approved-maintenance-organisation list monthly, with each firm's approval number, address and rating; filtered to Singapore facilities it holds 63 organisations — the cleanest denominator in the sector, where the government dataset is itself the facility test. Work covers airframe, engine, component and specialised maintenance, concentrated at Seletar Aerospace Park and around Changi and Loyang. Seletar hosts the Rolls-Royce/SAESL engine-overhaul joint venture, Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions, Bell, Bombardier and Jet Aviation; Changi and Loyang hold SIA Engineering, Eagle Services, GE Aviation, Honeywell and Collins. The population is MNC-subsidiary and joint-venture heavy, a consequence of the capital and certification barriers in engine and airframe work rather than SME depth.
Two manufacturing capabilities hold beyond maintenance. Aerospace-dedicated surface-treatment shops — heat treatment, plating and coating — sit inside the engine-MRO cluster, with NADCAP accreditation separating them from general platers. Aerostructures and engine-component makers produce flight hardware at Singapore facilities under AS9100 and NADCAP: engine casings at Seletar Aerospace Park, stators, seals and heatshields at Changi North, and hollow-titanium wide-chord fan blades. The qualifying test throughout is the physical facility and the certification trail, not a served-industry claim.
Capabilities
3 sub-sectors
- Aerospace precision components in Singapore Machining and manufacture of precision metal parts for airframes and engines — structural fittings, engine details and assemblies in aluminium, titanium and high-temperature alloys. Work runs to AS9100 quality systems and OEM drawings. Buyers select suppliers by AS9100 certification, material capability and first-article inspection record.
- Aerospace surface treatment in Singapore Protective and functional finishing of aerospace parts: anodising, plating, chemical conversion, passivation, shot peening, dry-film lubrication and thermal spray. Processes run to OEM specifications under NADCAP accreditation. Buyers select suppliers by process approval, OEM qualification and per-batch traceability.
- Aircraft and engine MRO in Singapore Maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft, engines and components. Scope covers line and base maintenance, engine and module overhaul, component repair, and composite structure repair, performed under regulator approval. Buyers select providers by airframe or engine-type authorisation, regulatory approval, and turnaround time.
