SAF-HOLLAND Singapore
SAF-HOLLAND Singapore is the Singapore arm of SAF-HOLLAND SE, the Frankfurt-listed chassis-component group with FY2025 sales of EUR 1,734.4 million. Its local entity, York Transport Equipment (Asia) Pte Ltd, has headquartered the York trailer-axle brand since the group acquired it in 2018, supplying trailer axles of 10 to 20 tonnes, suspensions, fifth wheels, kingpins and landing gear to trailer builders and fleets across Asia-Pacific.
Behind a sparse country website sits the headquarters of an entire brand. SAF-HOLLAND's Singapore company is York Transport Equipment (Asia) Pte Ltd — the Singapore-incorporated home of York, the trailer-axle and suspension marque the Frankfurt-listed group bought outright from Tata's TRF for roughly EUR 33 million in 2018. From Singapore, York sells 10-to-20-tonne trailer axles, suspensions rated to 100 tonnes, fifth-wheel couplers, kingpins and landing gear to trailer builders and transport fleets across Asia-Pacific and Australia/New Zealand, drawing production from group plants in Pune and Qingdao.

The company behind the country site
SAF-HOLLAND's Singapore web presence is a market portal, and it gives little away. The substance is in the group's legal-entity chart: as at 31 December 2025, SAF-HOLLAND SE's one Singapore-registered company is York Transport Equipment (Asia) Pte Ltd — the headquarters of the York brand, and the vehicle through which the German group runs a large part of its Asia-Pacific trailer business.
York came into the group in March 2018, when SAF-HOLLAND acquired 100 per cent of the Singapore-headquartered company from TRF Singapore Pte Ltd and TRF Holdings Pte Ltd — subsidiaries of TRF Limited, a Tata enterprise — for roughly EUR 33 million. At acquisition, SAF-HOLLAND described York as a leading maker of axles and suspension systems for heavy-duty trailers above nine tonnes, with major plants in Pune, India and Qingdao, China, operations across Southeast Asia, Australia and the Middle East/Africa, and an expected sales contribution of around EUR 50 million in the first full year.
Axles from ten tonnes, suspensions to one hundred
The York range is concrete and heavy. Trailer axles — round and square beam, self-steer, disc-brake and heavy-duty — run from 10 to 20 tonnes capacity, with ISO, JAP, DIN and spoke wheel fixings, brake sizes up to 420 mm by 220 mm and wheels from 15 to 24 inches. Mechanical suspensions carry 12 to 18 tonnes per axle in single, tandem and tri-axle configurations; the Dreadnought cantilever bogie is rated at 30 to 40 tonnes for off-highway work, and the Argonaut swivel-axle walking-beam suspension at 80 to 100 tonnes. Around them sit the Tecair family of air suspensions, two-speed landing gear, pressed-steel fifth-wheel couplers with fail-safe locking for two-inch kingpins, weld-in and bolt-in kingpins in two-inch and three-and-a-half-inch sizes, ISO container twistlocks and trailer ABS.
The applications York lists read like a tour of the region's road freight: container trailers, refrigerated vans, car carriers, liquid and bulk tankers, mining trailers, heavy-machinery carriers, port trailers, dump trailers and logging trailers. Products are sold directly to trailer-building original equipment manufacturers, repair shops and major transport fleets, and supported through authorised marketing partners; the company states it serves more than 300 customers worldwide.
A Frankfurt-listed parent with top-three positions
The parent gives the Singapore operation its weight. SAF-HOLLAND SE, headquartered in Bessenbach, Germany, has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange's Prime Standard since July 2007 and sits in the SDAX index. In the 2025 financial year the group reported sales of EUR 1,734.4 million, adjusted EBIT of EUR 164.0 million at a 9.5 per cent margin, and operating free cash flow of EUR 111.1 million, with around 5,600 employees worldwide.
The group sells chassis-related assemblies and components — axle and suspension systems, fifth wheels, coupling systems, kingpins and landing gear — under nine brands: SAF, Holland, Haldex, Assali Stefen, Neway, Tecma, KLL, V.ORLANDI and York. By its own account it ranks among the top three suppliers worldwide in every product category it competes in.
APAC holds double-digit margins in a down year
2025 was a hard year for the region and a telling one. APAC sales fell 18 per cent to around EUR 201 million on weak demand in India and Southeast Asia — yet the region closed with an adjusted EBIT margin of 10.8 per cent, its fourth consecutive year in double digits, and the highest margin in the group alongside the Americas.
The stabiliser is the aftermarket. Spare-parts business contributed 39.7 per cent of group sales in 2025 — EUR 689 million — up from 37.9 per cent the year before, sold through manufacturer service networks, wholesalers and distribution centres. In Singapore that machinery is visible in the tools the local site fronts: the SAF-HOLLAND I.Q. portal for technical documentation and spare-parts ordering, and the Parts On Demand ordering platforms POD and PODplus.

Singapore's role in this structure is commercial, not industrial. The Singapore company is York's headquarters and the group's sales, distribution and aftermarket base for the brand; manufacturing sits at the York plants in Pune and Qingdao, with sister operations including a sales office in Thailand. York names Singapore, India, China and Thailand offices on its own contact pages, and describes itself as the market leader in its field across Asia-Pacific and Australia/New Zealand.
That division of labour is worth stating plainly: the Singapore operation is an office and warehouse that runs a regional brand, not a factory. What Singapore contributes is the headquarters function — the commercial direction of a trailer-axle business that spans South and Southeast Asia, China, Australia and the Middle East, inside a German group that sells on six continents.
